My sister arrived home from work Friday to find that Mickey, one of her Cairn Terriers, had gone to sleep in his little bed and passed on to the Bridge. She lives in Austin and had driven to Oklahoma 9 months ago to adopt him. She didn't have much info on him, just that he was a breeder surrender and at least 11 years old. I got to meet him this past summer. He was an absolute sweetheart. In her words, " It happened so fast, he was healthy and happy one day and gone the next. Our time together was brief, but it was beautiful and I know he was happy here. Every morning at the sound of the alarm he would wake me with with warm doggie kisses, and every night I would kiss him at bedtime. It hurts to know that's gone, but if I had the chance, from the 12 hour drive to the shelter to the last kiss goodnight, I would do all again." Farewell sweet Mickey, until we meet again.

what a cutie. he looks lovely and so full of spirit. Your sister should take comfort in knowing that she gave him the best time he could have known and that to go in your sleep knowing you are loved is perhaps the best way to go.
