Cannot write much Lost my hiking companion last monday. On sunday, he reacted aggressively to touching and we went to see the vet on monday just to find out he had painful, advanced spondylosis and heart problems on top of that. We could have gave medication for the heart and painkillers for the back, but it seemed that we had no way of estimating how much pain medication is enough and when he would need more, so with heavy hearts we had to put him to sleep. Long time ago I thought I could trust my life on his shoulders and he would do the same, but before monday I never understood how heavy it is to carry. Miss you! Attachments:

I am so very sorry for your loss of such a great companion and friend.
Please remember what a vet on the Animal Planet said years ago, "You did not take his life. The disease/condition did. You gave him peace and rest".

how very sad, I'm so sorry this all happened and that you really had so little time to prepare yourself.

What an amazing photo of Leevi. I can certainly understand how that was a perfect day. And they can't be created, they just happen when we least expect it.

Glottis, I'm so sorry for your loss of Leevi. I know how badly it hurts. What would we do without time to help heal the pain? What would we do without the wonderful memories to replay when we are feeling lost and lonely? I'm glad you have wonderful memories of Leevi. He was a true friend. My deepest sympathies.
Julie
